The correct way to tie a gift wrapping ribbon

1、Take more than 3 metres of ribbon according to the size of the gift box, fold the ribbon in half to find the midpoint and place it vertically above the front of the gift box; 

2、Place the midpoint of the ribbon in the centre of the front, pull it to the reverse side and cross and fold it backwards; 

3、Tidy up the ribbon so that the ribbon crossover point is in the centre of the reverse side; 

4、Turn the gift box to the reverse side and thread the ribbon ends along the middle underneath the ribbon; 

5、Tie the two horizontal ribbons in a knot and then in the ribbon knot at the top and finally tie a bow and cut off the excess.

How to wrap a gift box with ribbon

In addition, there are diagonal tying and weaving methods. Place the ribbon on the top left-hand corner of the box, with the ribbon hanging over the edge of the box on the left side at a length of between 10-20cm and the other side hanging down with the whole loop of ribbon; wrap the ribbon around the top right-hand corner of the back of the box. Pull the section of ribbon attached to the loop to the bottom of the box, around the top right-hand corner of the bottom, towards the bottom right-hand corner. Hold the ribbon at the top left corner with one finger to prevent it from slipping off.

Wrap the ribbon around the bottom right corner as well as the bottom left corner with the ribbon flat and tight against the box so that it does not slip off the adjacent corner; pull one ribbon back to the top left corner of the box surface. Cut off the excess ribbon and pull both ribbons to the middle of the top left-hand corner of the box, cut the ribbon with the loop attached short; press the left-hand ribbon onto the right-hand ribbon and thread it back underneath, pulling the ribbon tight at both ends; bend the ribbon ends into loops and tie the right-hand loop and the left-hand loop into a bow; once the ribbon is tied tightly, cut off the excess at the end.
